Do I need a referral from my GP?

This will enable you to access a Medicare rebate for each session.

Payment is made on the day on completion of each consultation and can be made by credit card, cheque or cash.

Rebates

Consultations are partially subsidised by Medicare once your GP has prepared a Mental Health Care Plan for you. A mental health care plan will allow you to have six sessions with a psychologist after which we could request four more sessions should this be necessary. You are be responsible for full payment of fees and can then claim back a Medicare rebate. Please remember to bring your referral to the first session.

Most private health funds do cover psychology fees but please check with your fund as this may differ depending on the fund and your level of health care.
